Agilent GC problems

Postby kchapman1 » Thu Mar 07, 2013 10:44 am

I was wondering if you could take a poll for me and asked the other small labs a question.

1- Are any labs using an Agilent 5890 and what are they doing for computers when they break, since it can only run windows 98?
2- What instruments do they have in there labs? Is Agilent the best or is there something out there that is better?

I am just curious because my computers are having problems and so I am considering upgrading but not sure to what instrument, something brand new or used or Agilent or someone else. So I thought maybe the group could help with suggestions.

Another issue will be the lack of support for Win 98 in a couple of months when Microsoft moves on. Anyone running 98 should download the latest update just prior to the cutoff date to ensure the best operation.

As for older computers, they can sometimes be found rather cheaply, or the older operating system can be installed on newer compluters.
