The purpose of this committee is to develop consensus standards for the manufacture (and analysis) of air proficiency testing for source emission testing.

Mission Statement Development of TNI consensus standards that enable the externalization of the EPA's Stationary Source Audit Program (SSAP), including the following: - Roles and responsibilities of program participants
- Manufacture of audit samples
- Oversight of audit sample providers
- Management of audit sample results
- Acceptance criteria

- Development of a Working Draft Standard by January 2009
- Recognition of TNI program by EPA

Key Milestones - Development of Working Draft Standard (WDS) (January 2009)
- Presentation of WDS at TNI Winter 2009 meeting
- Incorporation of WDS comments to develop Voting Draft Standard (VDS)(April 2009)
- Vote VDS out of committee for TNI ballot (May 2009)
- Posting of VDS for TNI ballot (June 2009)
- Discussion of VDS comments at TNI Summer 2009 meeting (August 2009)
- Development of response to comments document (December 2009)
- Confirmation of committee vote on modified VDS document (January 2010)

Considerations - EPA SSAP funding will end in October 2009
- Committee is inexperienced in development of TNI consensus standards
- Committee has limited timeframe to develop standards
- Potential confusion as to role of committee versus existing Proficiency Testing Expert Committee
