Laboratory Accreditation System
Executive Committee
The purpose of this Executive Committee is to manage TNI’s efforts in supporting a national program for the accreditation of environmental laboratories. Activities of the Committee include developing and establishing policies and procedures, interpretations, guidance documents, and any related tools used by accreditation bodies to implement NELAP.
The LASC consists of 7 to 15 individuals with balanced representation of all stakeholder groups in TNI. To ensure that the program is implemented effectively and to address the needs of the stakeholder community, the LASC will work in cooperation with other core programs within The NELAC Institute. Specifically, the LASC:
- Will work with the NELAP Accreditation Council and the PT Executive Committee in the development of the laboratory accreditation system,
- Will work with the Consensus Standard Development Executive Committee to ensure that accreditation standards developed for this program are suitable for use, and
- Will seek the assistance of Expert Committees when developing guidance.

Note: On June 9, 2010, this committee was renamed the Laboratory Accreditation System Executive Committee to reflect a change in the TNI bylaws. Documents such as meeting minutes may show the previous name of this committee, Laboratory Accreditation System Committee.
