How to Become an Accredited FSMO

Become familiar with the General Requirements for Accreditation Bodies Accrediting Field Sampling and Measurement Organizations (FSMO-V1-2008), and implement a program to comply with the requirements. See the presentation given during the Washington, DC meeting in August 2010.

Review the anticipated timeline. An announcement of preliminary NEFAP Accreditation Body (AB) acceptance was made at the Environmental Measurement Symposium in Bellevue, WA in August 2011. The 4 ABs now accepting Field Sampling and Measurement Organization (FSMO) applications are:

ACLASS
American Association for Laboratory Accreditation (A2LA)
Laboratory Accreditation Bureau (L-A-B)
Perry Johnson Laboratory Accreditation, Inc. (PJLA)

Final recognition will occur after witnessing an on-site FSMO assessment.
