Membership
Membership is open to any individual who has an interest in laboratory accreditation issues in the private, public, and academic sectors.
Membership Classifications
As a consensus standards organization, members need to be classified to ensure balance. When you join TNI, you need to classify yourself into one of these three membership types:
- Accreditation Body: You work for a organization that accredits laboratories or field sampling and measurement organizations.
- Laboratory: You work for an organization that is or may become accredited for performing environmental sampling or testing.
- Other: You are not in any of the first two categories. This category includes government agencies that do not operate accreditation programs, PT providers, consultants, instrument manufacturers, attorneys, etc.
Individual Memberships
Individuals eligible for membership include any individual who has an interest in laboratory accreditation issues in the private, public, and academic sectors. Individual Members may vote on accreditation standards and serve on the Board of Directors and committees. Individual Members receive a newsletter summarizing the activities of TNI and are eligible for discounted rates for meetings and publications. Individual Members may also participate in the Members Only area of the website where they have access to the membership directory and several Forums established to exchange information on a variety of topics. Individual Memberships are currently $50 per year, or $135 for three years. Memberships become effective on the month an individual joins for a period of 12 months.
Organizational Memberships
Organizations eligible for membership include any company, university, law firm, or state or federal agency. There are three levels of organizational membership: Partner, Sponsor, and Patron. Each Partner ($250 Fee) receives two complimentary individual memberships, each Sponsor ($1000 Fee) receives five complimentary individual memberships, and each Patron ($2500 Fee) receives ten complimentary individual memberships. Organizational Members are listed in every issue of the TNI newsletter, The Institute Review. Organizational Members also receive free copies of TNI accreditation standards that contain ISO language.
