Free Training Course for Accreditation Bodies on October 23
Date Posted: 10-12-2008
The NELAC Institute (TNI) is offering a two-hour overview of the application process for states that wish to become NELAP recognized accreditation bodies (AB). The first part of this training will cover the responsibilities of a NELAP accreditation body and a general overview of the recognition process as outlined in Chapter 6 of the 2003 NELAC standards. The second half of the training will describe the management and quality systems the potential AB must have in place, and will focus on how to successfully complete the written application and supplemental materials.
Participants should have copies of the following documents in front of them:
"Accreditation Body Application";
"Application Completeness Checklist";
"Checklist to Determine Accreditation Body Compliance".
Participants should also review Chapter 6 of the 2003 NELAC standards before the training.
Instructors for the course are Dan Hickman, Oregon Department of Environmental Quality, and current Chair of the NELAP Board, and Dr. Kenneth Jackson, Director, Environmental Laboratory Approval Program, New York State Department of Health.
