On October 14, 2009, the TNI Board of Directors approved three new symbols to be used for certificates issued to laboratories or accreditation bodies. These new symbols include one for accredited laboratories, one for NELAP-recignized Accreditation Bodies, and one for Accreditation Bodes recognized in TNI's new field activities program:
Laboratories may continue to use the old half-circle NELAC symbol or use the new TNI symbol on general literature such as catalogs, advertising, business solicitations, proposals, quotations, laboratory analytical reports or other materials, according to Section 6.8 of the 2003 NELAC Standard.
